Constantia Investment Partners is an independently-owned boutique fund manager, running a single, long-only global equity strategy since August 2019.

We are based in Sydney, Australia.

We invest with a business-ownership mindset.

We believe investment is most successful when it is most business-like: focused on owning businesses for the long-term rather than renting their stock for short periods of time.

Because we subscribe to this business-ownership mindset, the quality of the businesses we want to own – and the people managing them – matter a great deal to us.

We believe the latter point is often underappreciated. In private markets, thorough evaluation of management’s integrity, knowledge, and incentives is standard. Oddly, this logic seems to go out the window when it comes to public equities.

Finance is numbers, but business is people.

While the numbers are important, even the most sophisticated models and thorough research cannot predict every conceivable challenge a business may face. The real world is too messy and unpredictable to fit neatly into a spreadsheet. Years of analysing and owning stocks have taught us to abandon the illusions of control and complete knowledge that comes from intensive research.

As business owners and investors, we've found that the best way to prepare for unforeseen events is to partner with exceptional people. Exceptional management teams are typically less volatile than markets or the macro-economy and often turn adversity into opportunities for greater success in the next cycle.
